Question: Does anyone here belong to the American Sleep Apnea Association?Aren't they a non-profit organization?They have some reading material that looks interesting.It seems to be put into 2 groups.Group 1 they will send out for free.For material in Group 2 they charge $2.00 for each item.I don't think I know of a non-profit organization that charges money foreducational material.
Answer: It says they are 501(c)3 on their home page. From what I could tell, the shorter items are free, while the moreinvolved ones have a $2 charge. Well, the professional technical societies are all non-profit, butthey most definitely charge for their educational material. Magazines charge re-print fees for articles. Non-profit does not equate to"every thing for free" - they still need to pay for computer use and/orcopier and mailing fees just like everyone else.
