Answer: Fans don't cause sleep apnea. Sleep apnea is either caused by a blockage in the throat (obstructive sleep apnea), a neurological disorder (central sleep apnea), or a combination of the two (mixed apnea). If anything, a fan may give an infant too much air, making it difficult or impossible to breathe against. But, that is definitely not sleep apnea.I have NEVER heard this and am an avid reader with 2 little ones. I'm not calling him a lier though as there is so much info out there. The easiest thing to do is call your doctor and talk to the advice nurse. That way you will know for sure.
