Question: Insomnia...?I'm 14, almost 15, and I have a severe case of insomnia. It's been like this for a couple of years now. My mom doesn't want me to take medications because she's afraid I'll get addicted. I've tried almost everything and but nothing works. Help!
Answer: Because you're a teenager, it's possible that your circadian rhythm is out of whack (longer than 24 hours). Your parents probably expect you to go to sleep at certain time, but because your cycle is different, you can't sleep. After a while, you're completely out of sync with the rest of world. This is very common with teens. As you grow older, the circadian rhythm tends to even out, although it's never exactly 24 hours.im the same age as you and i still have insomnia sometimes. its gotten better over the years but melatonin works well. do 3 miligrams. if your on an something else then dont take it but its worked for me. if not try looking into medatation and learning to control your mind. it works, really. i stopped being an insomniac by reading then medatating till i fell asleep.
