Question: I wrote a poem about my insomnia. Can any of you who have trouble sleeping relate to it?Midnight ShadowsWhen midnight shadows cast a pall,And peaceful slumber fails to call,Dark thoughts intrude, unwelcome, cruel,To engage the mind in a hopeless duel. The mortal body yearns for sleep,Pure, healing slumber, dreamless, deep,While anxious mind reigns on, supreme,Until encroaching morning's gleamDid ancient peoples tremble, toss,Defenseless upon bed of moss,Tormented by nocturnal feaOf myriad monsters lurking near?As darkness veils all cats with gray,True hues emerging with the day,Chill, brooding, thoughts clothed in malaiseBloom bright with hope beneath dawn's rays. With golden sun, dark shadows clear,Erasing all malevolent fear,'Til midnight shadows once more creepInto the chamber where you sleep.
Answer: YES!! OMG I love it! You've got a talent for writing. As inspiring as your insomnia seems to be for you, I hope you can find something to help. I know what you mean, its the worst feeling ae.My new fav poem!!!
