Insomnia Remedies

Question: Insomnia remedies?I'm a mom of a almost one year old child, who for the first nine months of his life breast fed every 2-5 hours. (on demand) While I had no problem with this at the time, and pretty much slept when he did, now that he's been sleeping through the night, I still don't, and I find myself waking up several times throughout the night, and for some reason, since I'm not waking up specifically to nurse him, I can't fall back asleep very easily. What can I do to train my body to sleep for long stretches at a time again?

Answer: Your body is just adjusting to the difference in sleep patterns. It will take some time and you will naturally fall back into the same pattern of sleep. Usually I would advise people to go get some short term remedies to help induce sleep but in your case being a mum, I would strongly not encourage it as your baby needs have to be responded as well. So try tactics like 1. sleep later than usual and your body will feel like it's more tired. 2. if your not sleepy once woken up, do something that else away from the bed then only return to it when you feel tired. 3. remove all sources of light from your bedroom.
