Insomnia Wow

Question: Are these side effects of depression? Serious answers please.?hair falling out, insomnia, weight gain ( even though not really eating)... Wondering if these could be signs of depression..(my son died 8 months of SIDs at 11 days of age) so i know i am still in a grieving process. But I am not taking any medication and my Thyroid has been checked.....

Answer: It sounds hormonal. Stress can throw the hormone systems all out of whack, and you are under a doozy of a stress right now.The #1 hormone - because it can affect the production of all the other hormones - is insulin. Ask your doctor for a fasting insulin blood test . Ask for a copy of your results. 10 or higher is abnormal for an adult. Also ask for a saliva test. This test will tell you if any of your feminine hormones are not at the best levels.Your symptoms (all of them) could possibly be related to low blood sugar. They sound quite like mine, the weight gain, the insomnia, the depression. You may want to check out www.hufa.org, and click on the symptoms link to check yourself out.
