Question: Anxiety disorders, and internal theft investigations.?I have a medically diagnosed anxiety disorder, I am also a suspect in an internal theft investigation. I recieved an hour long phone call at work last night that was recorded, saying that they have videos of me taking a list of products (none of which they could tell me) I was repeatedly called a liar, a thief, and a criminal. The person interrogating me was shamlessly trying to get me to admit to something I didn't do. I was told to lie about what the conversation was about (which is against my morals) and that if I discussed the conversation with anyone I could be fired for insubordination. This is all kind of standard I guess for a corperation, but I have an anxiety disorder, and after not being able to sleep last night as a result of the phone call.I'm considering quitting my job. I'm not sure if I feel comfortable working for the company anymore, with my new manager who iniciated this problem. What course of action do you think I should take?
Answer: I would never stand for such treatment, especially if I knew I hadn't done anything wrong.Absolutely, that is causing your anxiety, it would cause anybody anxiety.Probably need to put a notice in, or they will think you are guilty of something. Don't quit abruptly.Try to secure the best reference possible out of this.
