Question: Insomnia Help?okay so my mom's has been havinf insomnia for months now and she doesnt know what to do. Shes tried so many things but nothing seems to work. The doctor gave her some pills, but she doesn't really drink them because she knows they are not good for you. even the doctor doesn't even recommend her to drink pills, but he gave it to her anyway. there's time she can't sleep until 4 or 5 in the morning. The weird thing is that shes not even sleepy or tired during the day or night even if she only got like 3 hours of sleep or so. Does anyone have any suggestions? Has anyone suffered from insomnia and overcome it
Answer: Unfortunately, insomnia, in its extreme cases, is a serious medical condition, that often cannot be fixed with anything except for medication.I would suggest she get tested for things that could cause interrupted sleep, such as sleep apnea, and also a simple test to indicate brain activity before trying to go to sleep, etc. just to see the severity of her insomnia (this of course is assuming she has medical insurance, as these tests can be rather expensive).Sometimes it's just a matter of comparison. Sure, sleep medication is not great for you, but living a life with a serious sleep deficiency can be even more detrimental to one's health.
