Pap Sleep Apnea

Question: Sleep Apnea?Has anyone tried the C-PAP Pro mask for sleep apnea? Is it worth the money to buy it? Is it comfortable and do you get a good restful night's sleep with it?

Answer: The pro mask is probably one of the better masks out there, but I would highly recommend going to a medical supply store that carries CPAP equipment to try some of the different masks on.CPAP is difficult for a lot of people to get used to, but it's not impossible. Part of it is trying to breathe against the airflow - which is sometimes similar to sticking your head out the window at 50 miles an hour. If you can get over the initial airflow, then you'll be able to sleep (possibly better) as you did before. One feature that you should check on your machine is to see if there is a "ramp". You can set a lower pressure (or airflow) that will gradually increase over the number of minutes you select. Most insurance companies now cover DMEs (durable medical equipment), so check with your insurance to see if they will cover the Pro Mask - some will. But the best thing to do is try on different masks to see which one is right for you.
