Answer: If it is a group plan there will probably be coverage subject to a waiting period. If you had insurance immediately prior to getting this plan the waiting period will probably have been waived.If it is an individual plan there will be a waiting period of 6 to 12 months depending upon which state you live in.Typically if they do not exclude this condition in your contract and you were covered continuously prior to the new policy, you should be covered. That being said sleep apnea is usually excluded or ridered and is not covered..in individual medical plans. I have never had a policy issued without this condition being excluded.
