Sleeping Aide

Question: Sleeping aid?i currently take sleeping aid pills and i never folow the doze cause it never works , so i take as many as neededbuti was just wonderingive heard that taking too many can kill you ?is that true?how many are too many?would it be in your sleep? or would i be able to wake up so i can call 911?

Answer: Sleeping pills need to be regulated by yourself or your doctor in the strictest sense. If you take enough of them, your heart will slow down then stop and you will not wake up. I don't want to scare you but you cannot take medicine other than your doctor prescribed. If it is not working as it is directed on the bottle then you need to tell your doctor that. Self medicating yourself is one of the number one causes of accidental overdose deaths and it is usually by pain medications and sleeping pills. There are drugs such as Lunesta, Rozerm, and Ambien which all are used as sleep aids. The most dangerous, Lunesta and Ambien, are also the most popular and people might assume because a drug is popular, it is completely safe. Again talk to your doctor about the drug not working in the dose he prescribed and then you can talk about alternatives. Over the counter medications like benadryl have worked with people quite successfully for sleep.
