Question: Are sleep aids effective for treating chronic insomnia?I can usually fall asleep at night however sometimes I wake up 3 or 4 times a night. Nevertheless I've woken up tired every day for the past 5 weeks. I stoped taking OTC sedatives, but recently I heard that Perscription sleep aids really help you get a good nights sleep. Is this true.
Answer: It's true. I've had to use sleep meds myself. I DO NOT recommend Ambien. I caused myself and others to have psychotic episodes. It's very dangerous and my doctor will not prescribe it. There are several more safe meds that you can get from your doctor. They do help. Sometimes it takes a while to find one that works for you best.theres a sleeping pill called seraquill i think thats how u spell it. my friend takes it because he can not sleep. i took a half od one and slept 12 hours with out waking up. see your doctor for some mild forms of sleeping pill. they help.
